What is Human Design?
Human Design is a self awareness system that blends astrology, the I Ching, Kabbalah, the chakra system, and quantum physics. It provides a “blueprint” of how your energy works, how you make decisions, and how you interact with the world.
At its core, Human Design focuses on two key elements:
-
Strategy – how you’re meant to engage with life
-
Authority – how you’re designed to make decisions
The 5 Human Design Types & Their Strategies
1. Manifestors
Strategy: Inform before acting
Manifestors are initiators. They are here to start things and create impact. Informing others before taking action reduces resistance.
2. Generators
Strategy: Wait to respond
Generators have sustainable energy but are meant to respond to life rather than initiate. Satisfaction comes when they follow what lights them up.
3. Manifesting Generators (MGs)
Strategy: Wait to respond, then inform
These are multi-passionate beings who move quickly. They respond first, then act efficiently—but should still inform others to avoid friction.
4. Projectors
Strategy: Wait for the invitation
Projectors are natural guides and leaders. They thrive when recognized and invited, especially in relationships, career, and big life decisions.
5. Reflectors
Strategy: Wait a lunar cycle (28 days)
Reflectors are deeply intuitive and sensitive to their environment. They benefit from taking time before making major decisions.
Authority Types (Decision-Making Styles)
Emotional Authority
Wait for emotional clarity over time, this can come in waves of emotions. Decisions come and go and will change, need to wait and ride the emotional wave to understand if something is truely right for them.
Sacral Authority
Trust gut responses (“uh-huh” or “uh-uh”). Responds to what is immediately in front of them. Ask yourself Yes or No answers to understand how you feel about something.
Splenic Authority
Instant intuitive knowing (quiet and subtle). Learn to go inward to listen to your intuition rather than fear. Can hold onto to things to long or what's unhealthy for them, separate fear from intuition.
Ego Authority
Decisions based on willpower and desire. Designed to do what they want and feels right for them, regardless if it doesn't work for others. This can be seen as being selfish by others, not its the only way they know how to make the right decisions for them.
Self-Projected Authority
Talking things out reveals truth. Having a firm understanding of who they are and their identity in the world will help them make the right decisions. Use a trusted group of people to listen to them talk their decisions through.
Environmental (Mental) Authority
Clarity comes from the right environment and conversations. They don't like to be told what to do what have others hold the space for them to make the decision that's right for them.
Lunar Authority (Reflectors)
Wait through a full lunar cycle (approx 28 days) to make decisions. Needs lots of space and time alone to reflect and clarity. May try and borrow others energies to help with this.
